ROSEVILLE, CA - Roseville police may have interrupted a string of burglaries in northeast Roseville committed while residents were at home.

Monday morning at 5:12, a witness reported seeing an SUV parked the wrong direction in front of a neighbor's home on Milstead Way and an unknown man going up to the home, said police spokeswoman Officer Dee Dee Gunther. Officers responded and arrested Daniel Richard Emard, 28, of Roseville, on suspicion of burglary of an occupied building.

Later that morning, a resident interrupted a burglary at her home on Stone Canyon Drive in Rocklin. Gunther said the resident found a burglar in her living room with her jewelry box in hand. She tried to grab the jewelry box and the burglar ran out the back door.

Gunther said Rocklin police and Roseville police developed information to check a home in Rocklin where they arrested suspect Alexander Michael Souron, 21, and recovered stolen items.

Investigators think Emard and Souron have been working together to commit burglaries, Gunther said.

Both men were booked into Placer County Jail. Emard is accused of burglary, possession of stolen property and possession of drugs, Gunther said. Souron faces robbery and burglary charges. His bail was set at $135,000; Emard's at $130,000.
